Our Statement

Independent Thought, Independent Action.

We govern ourselves so we can govern together. TYC gives young Canadians aged 13 to 28 the authority, the structure, and the responsibility to lead not someday, but now.

The Structure

4 Levels. One Ambition.

One structure. Built to scale from your school to the nation.

01

School Chapter

Where it begins. Civic education, model parliament, and local advocacy inside your school.

02

Municipal Division

A real parliamentary chamber. Governed by the 20/80 model. Your riding, your issues, your accountability.

03

Provincial Chapter

Six provinces. One competitive stage. Model Parliament, provincial summits, and cross-division leadership.

04

National Level

Strategy, partnerships, and constitutional authority. The national parliament where provinces hold the C-Suite accountable.

About TYC

We Don't Wait
to Lead.

The Young Constituents was built on a single belief: young people don't lack ideas or ambition. They lack the governing authority to act on them. We exist to change that.

Preamble

"We hold that young people do not lack ideas or ambition; they lack the governing authority to act upon them."

TYC's founding principle is the paradox of independence and dependence: to govern together we must first learn to govern ourselves. We are independent in posture and decision-making, but dependent on one another to make the movement work.

Mission

Our Mission.

The Young Constituents establishes a parallel governance infrastructure in which young people learn by governing, running parliaments, managing organizations, debating policy, and holding one another accountable, to really make sure that upon entering public service, they are already leaders, organizers, and operational executives.

Values

What We Stand For.

  • 01Independence before influence.
  • 02Authority through accountability.
  • 03Structure as the path to scale.
  • 04Youth-led, youth-governed, no exceptions.
  • 05Non-partisan in posture, decisive in action.

Structure

How TYC Is Built.

Level 01

National

Strategy, partnerships, and constitutional authority. The C-Suite reports to the national parliament.

Level 02

Provincial

Six provincial chapters with their own Model Parliament and provincial summit cycles.

Level 03

Local

Two streams: Municipal Divisions (real parliamentary chambers, governed 20/80) and School Chapters (civic education and local advocacy).

Founding

A Constitution Built by Its First Generation.

The Young Constituents was founded by Xavier Davis and adopted on May 2, 2026. It was built on the belief that young people govern best when given real stakes and real responsibility, and not symbolic seats at adult tables.
